We have a subcontract with the Department of Defense to manage the new constructions in Iraq. We needed a reliable system to make sure each of the checkpoints at our reconstruction projects are being patrolled. So our approach was to give a few companies’ system a test run before we placed a large order.
Our on site engineer got a chance to work with the system and StarKnight was able to provide technical support off hours (as our on-site team was in Iraq and in different time zone). There were a good number of systems that did the job, but the Knight Solution was easy to set up and use. That was important because we purchased a batch of 50 starter kits and we wanted to make sure each site will have to set up their own station without much training. The price made sense and we go ahead and awarded them the contract.
- 50 Start Up Kits
Each team has their own start up kit. Their responsibility is to patrol the checkpoints installed throughout the building and run a report everyday.
The system was really easy to use and set up. We didn’t have any problem getting it up and running, which was great. The hardware didn’t break down on us in the field so that was good. We had a few extra start up kits just in case, but only had to replace 1 reader and that was because it got crushed. The reports we run is just fine. So all in all, the system got the job done and we are happy about it.
I own a medium sized security company here in northern California. Our most pressing problem was that our old guard reporting system stopped working. The other company wouldn’t replace the defective hardware, so I shopped for a replacement system, and decided to buy your StarKnight Guard Tour System.
The most important feature we look for is duability. We want a system that will work perfectly every day. Next, we needed a system that's easy to setup, and lastly we needed to print customized reports based for myself and our clients.
I did some research and after factoring in the price, the features, and the warranty of each model I researched, I chose the StarKnight System.

Each of our client's needs are different, but we have 9 guards patrolling customer businesses. Depending upon our agreement with each client, we install at least one station checkpoint at each location.
Each of our security guards is assigned one of your Key Fobs. When a guard arrives for the start of his shift, he checks out a StarKnight Reader and scans his unique key fob, then he goes on his patrol and records his activity.
Every morning, I run a report to see if there are any incidents that need to be reported to a client so they can address the issue. Then, at the end of each week, we generate a report for each of our clients for that week’s activity and recorded incidents.
After having our last system's hardware failed, I was worried that your hardware might not work as well as what I had read, but I'm happy to report that the StarKnight system has worked perfectly for the past 18 months.

I just typed in “keep track of employee” on Google and a lot of results came up. After looking up different websites some more, I came across StarKnight and a number of other companies. Other companies have very complex and pricy systems and I wasn’t sure whether I needed all of those. I needed something that’s simple to use but yet reliable. The Knight Tour Solution was just that.

Our setup is pretty simple. We installed a checkpoint at every location that needs to be cleaned and at every amusement ride. We give each one of our employees who go out and keep the park clean and the rides working an identification tag. They are required to log any incident that happens on their tour in the incident booklet. After each shift, our manager downloads all the data onto the same computer and runs a report every other week to find any missing checkpoints. Over time, we have:
Once we implemented the Knight Solution, we have noticed fewer incidents throughout the amusement park. It has helped us dramatically keep track of our employees and their whereabouts. It is very easy to use and set up. Training our employees takes only a minute or two on how to use the system, then the software does the rest.
I didn’t know whether this is something we needed and how well it would work. I called StarKnight and was able to have my questions answered; but the best part was their money back guarantee. They told me that I have 90 days to try the system and if I wasn’t happy with it, I can always just give them a call and return the system. That was great.

We needed something very simple and cost efficient. I did some research online, and came across your Web site. I researched your product and saw that it was very easy to set up and use. Your starter system came with everything I needed, and having the lifetime warranty on the station checkpoints made me feel better about investing in your product. Your guard tour system has the best balance of price and performance.

We installed the station checkpoints around the perimeter of our units, and gave the wireless [RFID] Reader to our security person, and asked him to do 2 patrols each night, and make note of any incidents.
At the end of his shift, he returns the Reader. In the morning, our office manager downloads the reports and prints out a copy for me to review. The reports quickly tell us if the guard did his job, whether he missed any checkpoints, and what issues need to be addressed.
The incident booklet also saves the guard time, because he does not need to write anything down. If there's an issue, such as the occassional graffiti on a wall, he scans the tag we customized to say "Graffiti", and I get a report in the morning that tells me where he found graffiti so we can remove it. I even receive the time he found the graffiti, which allows me to step up patrols to deter people from loitering around our property.
We have an 8,000 square foot facility with a full inventory of goods that need to be protected. To fight against burglary, we decided to hire a security company to check on our warehouse every evening, at specified times, to make sure the building is always secure.
We wanted to ensure that the security guards were checking our property as per our contract, so we purchased your StarKnight's Guard Tour Solution to provide the confirmation we need.
I chose your StarKnight system because it's easy to setup, and includes customizable reports that are locked so only I can edit or print them.
I purchased the starter kit, which came with the following components:
+ 1 Computer Software License
+ 1 Readers
+ 5 Identification Tags
+ 12 Station Checkpoints
+ 1 Incident Booklet
Well, as I mentioned, keeping track of the guards is the main thing... but in terms of the software and the reader, I wanted to make sure whatever system I chose was going to be durable and reliable.
It’s great. It keeps the security company accountable without me having to do much. Every evening, when they're done, they leave the RFID reader in a secure location, and each morning, I run my custom reports that tell me exactly when they went to each checkpoint, and if there were any issues that need follow up.
So far it has worked perfectly every day, which is great because it gives me the peace of mind that our security guards are patroling our property.
